Job Description

All right, big shot - no point in beating around the bush, let’s get right to it. As a Sr. Marketing Specialist at ContentNinja, here’s what you’re expected to do:

Plan

Build out marketing strategies - some data-driven, some creative-heavy - for prospective customers, clients, and us

Lead

Manage and guide teams across functions - strategy, content, design, video, and web. Take ownership of project timelines and creative output

Manage

Develop and pitch campaigns / creative ideas and concepts to stakeholders - both internal and external. Manage stakeholder expectations and influence decisions.


As the Creative Marketing Strategist, your role is to deeply understand the client’s business, market landscape, and target audience. Using this knowledge, you will generate insights to inform a communication strategy that supports client objectives and resonates with their audience. A key part of your role will be to utilise strategy frameworks to build, grow, and sustain brands over time.


In addition to strategic thinking, you should have a foundational understanding of storytelling, design, video production, and user experience (UX). You will also oversee the entire creative pipeline from concept to execution, ensuring smooth collaboration and high-quality output that meets strategic goals.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business & Market Understanding: Conduct research on the client’s business, competitors, and target audience, and develop a thorough understanding of their market.
  • Insight Generation: Analyse data, market trends, audience behaviour, and consumer psychology to generate actionable insights that shape the communication strategy.
  • Strategic Frameworks: Utilise deep knowledge of strategy frameworks to develop strategies that build, grow, and sustain client brands.
  • Creative Pipeline Management: Manage the end-to-end creative process, ensuring seamless execution across design, video, and UX teams.
  • Design & Video Knowledge: Use your understanding of design and video production principles, as well as UX, to guide the creative process and ensure all outputs are strategically aligned.
  • Creative Conceptualisation: Develop key communication strategies that are rooted in insights and aligned with business goals, translating them into actionable creative concepts.
  • Brand Positioning: Shape and maintain a consistent brand and compelling narrative that differentiates the client in the market and appeals to the target audience.
  • Storytelling & Ideation: Craft engaging campaign stories based on current market trends, cultural context, and research insights.
  • Platform Expertise: Tailor strategies and creative concepts for various platforms (social, digital, web), optimising execution for each.
  • Collaboration: Partner with creative and client servicing teams to ensure the strategic direction is executed effectively and within deadlines.
  • Presentation & Reporting: Present strategies to clients and internal teams, and analyse campaign performance to refine future strategies.
  • Timeline & Budget Management: Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget, coordinating resources across teams.


Pre-requisites:

  • Strong understanding of B2B buying journeys - shouldn’t be scared by terms like funnel stages (AIDA anyone?), MQL/SQL, keyword intent, ROS, and others.
  • Understanding of key marketing metrics (e.g., engagement rates, conversion rates, customer acquisition cost, and lifetime value) and using data to refine strategies.
  • Experience with A/B and adaptive testing, as well as using technology to automate this to a large extent
  • Comfort with marketing technologies that enable user testing, heatmaps, email automation + analytics
  • Solid grasp of content marketing fundamentals, including the development of engaging and informative content that aligns with SEO best practices to increase organic visibility.
  • Direct experience with cross-functional teams - especially content, marketing, and design
