Cost Controller

Education-:Chartered Accountant (CA) / Cost Accountant (CMA)

Experience-:5–8 years of relevant experience in cost control, preferably in manufacturing/plant environment.

• Prior exposure to plant operations and inventory management is desirable

Responsibilities-:

• Cost Accounting & Control
• Manage standard costing, overhead absorption, and cost allocations.
• Monitor BOMs (Bill of Materials), process costs, WIP, and finished goods valuation.
• Track and analyze direct & indirect costs for plant operations.
• Variance Analysis
• Perform monthly variance analysis (standard vs. actual costs, production yield, efficiency, material usage).
• Report and explain deviations to management with corrective actions.
• Inventory & Consumption Monitoring
• Ensure accurate tracking of raw materials, consumables, WIP, and finished goods.
• Conduct periodic physical verification and reconciliation of stocks.
• Support inventory valuation as per accounting standards.
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Assist in preparation of annual plant budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Track actual vs. budget costs and highlight deviations.
• Controls & Compliance
• Implement strong internal controls for material issuance, scrap, and wastage monitoring.
• Support internal/external audits related to plant costing and inventory.
• Business Partnering
• Work closely with Production, Supply Chain, and Procurement teams.
• Provide cost insights to drive efficiency and productivity improvement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Exposure to manufacturing/plant accounting.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).
• Proficiency in MS Excel/Power BI for cost analytics.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with plant teams.
