Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cosmetic Chemist (R&D) to join our dynamic team
The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating, testing, and optimizing innovative cosmetic and personal care products This role requires expertise in cosmetic science, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for developing high-performance formulations that meet market trends and regulatory standards

Key Responsibilities:

Formulation Development:

Design and develop new cosmetic, skin care, and oral care formulations (creams, lotions, serums, cleansers, makeup, toothpaste, etc) based on market trends and client requirements

Product Testing & Optimization:

Conduct stability, compatibility, and performance testing to ensure product safety, efficacy, and compliance with global regulations (FDA, EU, ISO, etc)

Raw Material Evaluation:

Research and test new ingredients for efficacy, safety, and cost-effectiveness

Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support:

Work closely with production teams to transition lab-scale formulations to commercial-scale manufacturing

Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure all formulations adhere to industry standards (COSMOS, ECOCERT, GMP) and regional regulations

Documentation:

Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and SOPs

Innovation & Trend Analysis:

Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and sustainability practices in cosmetics and personal care

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work with marketing, quality control, and suppliers to align product development with business goals

Qualifications & Skills:

Hard Skills:

Strong knowledge of cosmetic chemistry, emulsion systems, surfactants, rheology modifiers, and active ingredients
Experience with formulation software (eg Chemist s Corner, UL Prospector) is a plus Familiarity with analytical techniques (HPLC, FTIR, viscosity testing, etc) Understanding of regulatory requirements (INCI, IFRA, EWG, etc)

Soft Skills:

Creative problem-solving and attention to detail
Strong communication and teamwork abilities Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Education & Certifications:

Bachelor s/Master s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Additional certifications (eg SCC, IFSCC) are a plus

Preferred Experience:

3+ years of hands-on experience in cosmetic R&D, preferably in private-label manufacturing
Proven track record of developing successful skin care, cosmetics, or oral care products Experience with natural/organic formulations and sustainable packaging is desirable
