Booking Holdings India, a Center of Excellence (COE) based in Bangalore, India, is dedicated to meeting the growing business needs of Booking Holdings Inc. and its Brands. The COE plays a crucial role in supporting Booking Holdings Inc."s global talent strategy by focusing on various technology functions including Cybersecurity, Fraud monitoring/analytics, IT, and more across our Brand subsidiaries. We are currently seeking a Corporate Counsel (Legal & Compliance) or Legal & Compliance Associate to assist the COE Senior Legal Counsel (Legal & Compliance) in ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, managing employee relations matters in collaboration with the People team, implementing Compliance & Ethics program initiatives, and providing support to the legal team as required. Qualifications: - A university degree in scientific, business, or legal studies. - A law degree from a reputable law school is preferred for the Counsel title, but not mandatory. - Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional credentials are preferred for candidates without a law degree. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with labor consultants to ensure compliance with labor laws applicable to the COE. - Work alongside the Senior Legal Counsel and India People Lead to support employee relations activities, including tracking and updating stakeholders on the status of COE employee relations matters. - Assist in implementing Compliance & Ethics program initiatives, including policies, training, and Ethics Ambassadors program, as well as local compliance training. - Undertake additional projects and ad hoc tasks to support the COE team and legal and compliance initiatives. Skills: - Proficiency in English with the ability to communicate effectively in English. - Strong communication skills to convey complex matters to COE management teams. - Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills. - Capability to work independently with minimal supervision. - Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and individuals to influence perspectives and achieve consensus. - Comfortable engaging with employees and conducting fact-finding conversations related to employee relations matters. Additional Skills: - International experience with an awareness of communication styles and cultural differences. - Experience in handling employee-relations matters and responsibilities. - Consultative approach with the ability to present perspectives clearly and generate understanding. - Self-motivated, accountable, and capable of working independently. - Comfortable operating as both an individual contributor and influencer. - Adaptable to ambiguity and fast-paced entrepreneurial environments. - Assertive, intellectually curious, and proactive personality.
