Experience:

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in line editing, copyediting, and proofreading preferably within the general and trade book publishing sector.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage collaboratively with authors and team members.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management and analytical capabilities.
• Understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style: Knowledge of grammatical and stylistic rules to make accurate edits.
• Strong writing and editing skills: Ability to identify areas for improvement in writing and make effective edits.

Skills and Qualifications:

2. Attention to detail: Carefully reviewing each line of text for errors and inconsistencies.
3. Understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style: Knowledge of grammatical and stylistic rules to make accurate edits.

5. Communication skills: Ability to communicate feedback to the author clearly and constructively. 
6. Adhering to timelines: Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.
7. Style guides: Familiarity with major style guides (APA, MLA, Chicago Manual of Style, 18th Edition) and reference works.
8. Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
