Job Description

Role & responsibilities Purpose The Controls Manager is responsible for leading, developing, standardizing, and optimizing all controls-related activities within the plant. This role supports the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical and automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, reliability, safety, and technology alignment in accordance with corporate objectives and industry standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Lead and drive standardization of controls equipment and architecture across all manufacturing lines. 2. Oversee the development and maintenance of documentation for standard control systems including welding and assembly equipment. 3. Develop and implement common coding standards and best practices for all plant automation equipment. 4. Maintain and update controls engineering standards based on new technologies and lessons learned from operations. 5. Manage controls engineering support for daily plant operations to meet production and quality targets. 6. Plan and lead all controls-related activities for new equipment installations, retrofits, and rebuilds. 7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and process efficiency. 8. Ensure adherence to safety, compliance, and company standards during all controls-related work. 9. Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for controls systems. 10. Identify, analyze, and resolve recurring automation or control system issues in a timely manner. 11. Facilitate cross-department communication to ensure alignment on project scope and timeline. 12. Evaluate and recommend new hardware, software, and controls technology for improved performance. 13. Manage documentation, backups, and revisions for all PLC, HMI, and robot programs. 14. Develop internal controls capability and provide mentorship to junior engineers and technicians. 15. Support audits, inspections, and compliance reporting related to electrical and automation systems. 16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Preferred candidate profile 1. Strong technical expertise in control systems design, programming, and integration. 2.Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Allen Bradley), servo drives, and robotics
