We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Data Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of PLM (Teamcenter) and SAP systems for material master and BoM creation, data quality best practices, and a proven track record of successfully maintaining engineering master data. The Material Master Specialist reports to Engineering Manager, working under supervision but expected to prioritize own workload and ensure tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Data Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining critical product information throughout the product lifecycle Ensure product data integrity across PLM and ERP systems ensuring accurate product information is available for internal stakeholders and external channels
Provide support to teams of mechanical and electrical engineers to create & update MM and Engineering Bill of Material (EBOM) in PLM and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep hands-on experience with SAP Material Master data, including the creation, maintenance, and governance of material records across raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods Ensure compliance with internal controls, business rules, and PLM/SAP data standards Extract and transform material data from various engineering tools and ensure data consistency across ERP and PLM systems and interconnected databases Release MM, BoM and DIR with organization approved Engineering Change Management process Implement quality control measures to verify data accuracy and completeness Estimate task/project timelines and document outcomes for future reference

5+ years of hands-on experience working with SAP ECC or S/4HANA Material Master data & BoM. Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) and Fiori apps is desirable 3+ years of experience working with PLM tool (Teamcenter preferred) for Material Master and BoM Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Strong understanding of material types (ROH, HALB, FERT) and associated data attributes (Basic Data, Purchasing, MRP, Work Scheduling, Costing, Sales, etc.) Good understanding and experience with Engineering Change Management (ECM) process Proven experience with data cleansing, mass data updates, and data validation techniques Familiarity with master data governance frameworks and tools Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams in global environments Independently manage assigned projects with minimal supervision
