Job Description

We are looking for passionate and dedicated Community Workers to support interventions related to Community Forest Rights (CFR) and Individual Forest Rights (IFR). Your role will involve working directly with forest-dwelling communities to build awareness, support documentation and claim processes, and help strengthen local governance of Forest Rights. Key Responsibilities: Conduct community mobilization and awareness sessions on FRA, PEASA, MGNREGA, and other Govt. Schemes. Support community members in preparing and filing forest rights claims, including land mapping, documentation, and verification processes. Facilitate Gram Sabha meetings, capacity-building sessions, and participatory planning for forest governance. Help form and strengthen Forest Rights Committees (FRCs), Forest Right Management Committees (FRMC) at the village level. Coordinate with local governance bodies (Gram Panchayats). Maintain detailed field records, case studies, and reports of community progress and challenges. Identify theme beneficiaries. Organize and facilitate awareness campaigns on the Forest Rights Act (FRA), 2006, especially CFR and IFR provisions. Conduct door-to-door visits, group meetings, and discussions to sensitize tribal and forest-dwelling communities about their rights. Mobilize communities to participate in Gram Sabha meetings and decision-making processes. Support organization-related other work. Qualifications & Experience: Minimum 12th pass or related field is preferred. 1 year of experience in community work, preferably in tribal rights, land rights, or forest governance. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills. Ability to work in remote rural/forest areas and engage with diverse communities. Fluency in the local language/dialect is essential. Basic computer and reporting skills (MS Word, MS Excel data entry) is a plus. Personal Attributes: Strong commitment to social justice and tribal rights. Patience, empathy, and willingness to work under challenging field conditions. Good problem-solving ability and community relationship-building skills.
