As a Communication Associate, you will be responsible for various tasks including conducting landscape research, updating the team on sector trends, analyzing data, creating a funder database, and assisting in fundraising-related product development with a focus on marketing and communication strategies. It aims to provide a foundational understanding of the field and foster relevant skill development. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - Support the Development team in business development, fundraising, and funder management activities. - Conduct landscape research to enhance the team's sector knowledge. - Build and maintain a funder database to identify potential opportunities. - Assist in creating fundraising proposals. - Develop communication materials such as funding products, brochures, and other relevant content. - Collaborate with various departments to create effective communication and marketing materials. **Reporting:** - Generate reports on fundraising-related research and communication activities as per agreed timelines. **Accountabilities:** - Complete tasks within specified deadlines and meet expectations. - Collaborate effectively with team members and other university staff. - Participate in relevant training programs as necessary. **Technical Skills:** - Proficiency in basic marketing and communication principles. - Strong grasp of research, data analysis, and proposal writing techniques. **Soft Skills:** - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. - Demonstrated personal integrity and strong moral values. - Open-mindedness and flexibility to work in a dynamic team environment. - Alignment with the University's core values, mission, and commitment to serving marginalized youth and local communities. **Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communication, development, or non-profit fundraising. - Bachelor's or master's degree in business, education, communication, advertising, mass media, journalism, or related fields. - Preference for candidates with prior exposure to corporate or development sectors.
