Job Description

Role: Commodity Lead

Location: Bangalore (Electronic City)

JD:

Qualification:

Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering

Experience:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned commodities (e.g., Metal Machining, Sheet Metal, OEM, COTS and plastics).
Identify cost reduction and value engineering opportunities.
Identify, evaluate, develop, and manage suppliers globally and locally.
Drive supplier performance through KPIs on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts.
Ensure favorable conditions and compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and geopolitical risks.
Proactively adapt strategies based on supply chain dynamics
Work closely with engineering, quality, production, and finance teams.
Participate in new product development and cost estimation exercises.
Track cost drivers and deliver year-over-year savings.
Use TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and should-cost modeling tools.

Technical Skillset

Proven negotiation and supplier development skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Proficient in MS Excel, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and sourcing tools (e.g., Ariba, Jaggaer).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Global sourcing experience in manufacturing or semiconductor sectors.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, VA/VE, and cost modeling.
