Job Description

Job Title:

Project Type: Waste-to-Energy / Power Plant

Location: At Project site during Commissioning Phase or In- Office

Role & responsibilities

A

- Develop the overall commissioning strategy, execution plan, and schedule in line with the project timeline.
- Review and approve commissioning procedures and checklists. - Identify commissioning resource requirements and mobilize the team (including subcontractors and OEM specialists). - Ensure all necessary tools, instruments, and consumables are available for commissioning works.

B. Execution & Coordination

- Lead pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for all plant systems (mechanical, electrical, E&I, process).
- Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Procurement , and Construction teams to ensure systems are completed and handed over for commissioning in a timely manner. - Interface with OEM representatives for major equipment start-up and performance testing ( like Firefighting, Turbine, IDF etc.). - Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations during all commissioning activities. - Conduct System Walkdowns, Punch list management, and turnover packages for each system.

C. Testing & Performance

- System energization, equipment start-up, process trials, and functional testing.
- Monitor and verify performance parameters as per design guarantees (capacity, efficiency, emissions, etc.) as per applicable code. - Coordinate troubleshooting and rectification of commissioning-related issues. - Ensure commissioning documentation and test records are completed and signed off.

D. Handover & Reporting

- Prepare system handover documents and facilitate transfer to Operations/Maintenance teams.
- Provide training to clients O&M personnel on systems and plant operation. - Prepare weekly commissioning progress reports and maintain as-built commissioning documentation.

Preferred candidate profile

Education:

- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).

Experience:

1215

Technical Skills:

- Strong understanding of thermal power processes, steam cycles, combustion systems, water-steam chemistry, and environmental systems.
- Proficient in reading P&IDs, SLDs, and control logic diagrams. - Knowledge of international codes & standards (ASME, IEC, ISO, NFPA, etc.).

Soft Skills:

- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills. - Problem-solving and decision-making abilities under tight deadlines.
