Role & responsibilities Develop and finalize Heat & Mass Balance Diagrams (HMBD), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). Define and review Control Philosophy, equipment sizing, and material specifications. Analyze project requirements and integrate vendor inputs and historical data into final process documents. Support and guide the team in calculating utility consumption, equipment loads, and flue gas treatment systems (ESP, bag filter, FGD units). Looking for a structural engineer having 5 to 10 years' experience in detailed engineering of fuel-fired power plant equipment structures. candidate would be responsible for detailed engineering calculations, strength calculations, structural drawing preparation/checking, planning, and timely completion of detailed engineering activities. Job Description Diversified product supporting structural design experience like solid fuel, fired boilers, as well as oil and gas fired boiler structures, piperacks, and duct support structures. Capability in managing structural designing, being well versed in various codes like IS Codes IS800, IS9178, IS6353, IS808, SP6, and international codes like AISC, BS, ASCE & JIS. Detailed engineering and planning for supporting structure and non-pressure part equipment for the power plant. Structural design using STAAD-Pro for power plant equipment and cost-effective design solutions shall be recommended. Well versed with STAAD, AutoCAD, TEKLA, STAAD Foundation, IDEA STATICA, and Microsoft Suite. Earthquake-resistant structural design with response spectra analysis. (CQC & SRSS Method at least) Detailed design and Analysis of ducting, stacks, silos, duct supporting structures, stiffening requirements, etc. Design report preparation for stack, silos, duct supporting structure, stiffening requirements, jigs, transportation frames, boiler stability analysis, etc. Complete structural detailing knowledge with comprehensive understanding of different steel material codes: Indian, British, Chinese, Japanese & American. Material selection and material requisitions/BOQ preparations. Preparation of civil foundation load data of steel structure & design of foundation bolts & base plates in an effective manner with detailed calculations. Responsibilities Responsible for optimized design and detailed engineering of power plant equipment structure. Work planning, monitoring, and catch-up plan preparation; man-hour planning and recording. Checked and released GA and fabrication drawings in specified areas of equipment supporting structure. Maintaining and monitoring the engineering document list. Responsible for the timely completion of the work assigned. Skills Proficient in using STAAD-PRO and IDEA STATICA software. Knowledge of structural design standards like IS, BS, AISC, JIS, and other international codes. Knowledge of software like Tekla, AutoCAD, MS project, Excel etc. Strong problem-solving skills, able to handle unforeseen problems with course corrections. Knowing the Japanese language is extra advantageous.
