Job Description

Position - Commissioning Engineer

Location - Bangalore

  • Bachelors in Mineral processing Engineer/ Chemical Engineer / Masters degree
  • Min 10 - 12 years of experience in the mineral processing industry, with specific experience in commissioning roles / equipment / plant operation
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software such as AutoCAD and any process simulation software are beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and spoken English & power point presentation.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools and programming knowledge in VB is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Will be responsible for commissioning of mineral processing equipment like: Thickeners, filters, flotation cells, Belt Linear screen & packages and follow site commissioning protocol

    .
  • Perform functional and performance guarantee (PG) tests on equipment.
  • Troubleshoot of mechanical and electrical issues during all stages of commissioning.
  • Responsible for safety and regulatory compliance during commissioning, should follow LOTO procedure at site.
  • Will verify physically the installation done by construction team is as per approved P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) prior to commissioning.
  • Read and interpret General arrangement drawing & Layout.
  • If required, performing process design calculations, material balance calculations particularly around filtration, thickening, flotation and for complete mineral processing flowsheet.
  • Prepare commissioning, control philosophy and training manual for client submission by taking support from cross functional teams and external vendors.
  • Will plan, schedule, and coordinate commissioning activities at site.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues during commissioning.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong time management skills to ensure commissioning activities are completed on schedule.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning reports and hand over documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities and lesson learnt.
  • Will train plant operators and maintenance personnel on equipment and processes.
  • Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, different cultures and work environments
  • Coordinate with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.
  • Shall travel to remote locations plant sites, work in challenging environments, and stay for longer period at site if required.
  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and work environments.
  • Perform other activities like laboratory testing (Moisture, slurry density, static & dynamic thickening test) & involve in sales activities as and when required.
  • Provide process guidance for mechanical design during he project execution stage to Engineering and project team.
