Job Description: Commissioning Engineer Electrical & Software Location: Chennai / Willing to Travel Experience Required: 7-12 Years Industry: Industrial Automation / Manufacturing / Electrical Engineering Function: Engineering Electrical / Automation / Commissioning Employment Type: Full Time Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer Electrical & Software with strong experience in industrial automation, electrical systems commissioning, and PLC/HMI programming. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms, with a proven ability to lead system integration, perform on-site troubleshooting, and deliver fully commissioned systems across various industries including tyres, FMCG, and warehouse automation. Key Responsibilities: Program and commission PLC and HMI systems (Allen Bradley – RSLogix/Studio 5000, Siemens – TIA Portal). Lead installation, configuration, and validation of automation hardware including drives, sensors, and field devices. Coordinate electrical hardware commissioning and provide software integration at client sites. Troubleshoot automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, VFDs, and control panels. Interface with barcode and vision systems such as Cognex, SICK, and Datalogic. Generate documentation: commissioning reports, SOPs, and training materials. Provide technical training and support to client stakeholders and internal teams. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including vendors, design engineers, and project managers. Required Skills & Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in electrical commissioning and industrial automation. Strong knowledge of PLCs: Allen Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix), Siemens (S7-1200/1500). Proficiency in HMI and SCADA development (FactoryTalk View, WinCC). Hands-on experience with servo systems, VFDs (AB, Siemens), and field I/O modules. Experience in commissioning conveyor systems, machine automation, and warehouse automation projects. Working knowledge of sensors, control modules, and safety systems. Familiarity with TPM, 5S, Kaizen, and preventive maintenance tools. Willingness to travel to client locations for on-site commissioning and support. Educational Qualification: Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized institute (Minimum 60%). Certifications Preferred: Siemens Basic PLC & HMI Programming (S7-1500/S7-1200) Languages: English (Required) Tamil, Telugu (Preferred) Preferred Candidate Profile: Strong troubleshooting mindset with a hands-on attitude. Excellent communication and coordination skills. Ability to work independently in field environments. Detail-oriented with a focus on safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
