Commis 2 - Tandoor

As a member of the kitchen team at Novotel Chennai Chamiers Road, your prime function will involve assisting the Production team in food preparation and carrying out related duties in the Kitchen. You will be responsible for tasks assigned by the Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or Chef de Partie in any section of the kitchen according to set standards. Your role will also include ensuring compliance with HACCP procedures, maintaining clear records, and consistently exceeding guest expectations in terms of food quality and service. It is essential to communicate any matters that may impact the hotel's interests to the Management. - Provide effective support to the team to enable them to deliver a range of efficient services. - Cooperate with staff in each section to ensure proper equipment use and task completion. - Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards. - Liaise professionally with the Catering and Stewarding Departments to achieve event objectives and uphold standards. - Identify optimal resource use and cost-effective practices. - Facilitate stock take and rotation for the assigned section. - Monitor operations to minimize food wastage and ensure cost-effectiveness. - Adhere to recipes, methods, and instructions from the Executive Chef. - Maintain company and statutory hygiene standards. - Ensure compliance with food preparation and presentation standards. - Coordinate with other departments for operational readiness and service delivery. - Prevent the use of contaminated products in food preparation processes. - Maintain kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils as per standards. - Adhere to Novotel Chennai Chamiers Road policies and procedures. - Handle additional responsibilities delegated by the Management. - Degree or Diploma in Culinary. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the same role in reputed 5-star brands. Mandatory experience in Tandoor.,
