As a Food and Beverage & Culinary Associate at The Westin Gurgaon New Delhi, your primary responsibility will be to prepare ingredients for cooking, which includes portioning, chopping, and storing food. You will also be tasked with washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Following recipes, quality standards, presentation guidelines, and food preparation checklists while preparing and cooking food will be essential. In addition, you will be expected to prepare cold foods, operate various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, and test foods to ensure they are cooked adequately. Monitoring food quality during preparation, setting up and breaking down workstations, and serving food in correct portions are also part of your duties. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including washing and disinfecting surfaces and equipment, will be crucial to ensure food safety. Adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and reporting any maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to the manager are paramount. Upholding a clean and professional appearance, respecting confidentiality, and communicating effectively with team members are expected behaviors. Developing positive relationships, supporting team goals, and meeting quality expectations and standards are integral to your role. Ideally, you should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least 1 year of related work experience. Supervisory experience is not required, and no specific licenses or certifications are necessary for this position.
