Job Summary

The Commi I – Indian Cuisine is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of Indian dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and consistency. The role supports senior chefs in day-to-day kitchen operations and ensures smooth service during operational hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and cooking of Indian dishes including gravies, curries, breads, rice, and accompaniments
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion control as per Botanee Restaurant guidelines
  • Support the CDP and senior chefs during service to ensure timely food delivery
  • Prepare mise-en-place as per daily production requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the assigned kitchen section
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (FSSAI norms)
  • Handle basic kitchen equipment and utensils safely and efficiently
  • Monitor food quality and report any issues to the supervising chef
  • Minimize wastage and follow proper storage procedures (FIFO)
  • Assist in receiving and checking kitchen supplies when required
  • Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth operations

Skills & Competencies

  • Good knowledge of Indian cuisine and cooking techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours
  • Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen operations
  • Strong sense of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Willingness to learn and take instructions

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management (preferred)
  • Minimum 4+ years experience as Commi I or equivalent role in Indian cuisine
  • Experience in a restaurant or hotel kitchen preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
