Role & responsibilities

1. Operations Management

• Plan, organize, and control daily cold forging operations to meet production schedules.
  
• Ensure adherence to process parameters, tooling standards, and equipment utilization.
  
• Monitor production KPIs (OEE, downtime, rejection rates, etc.) and implement corrective actions.
  
• Optimize machine setups and cycle times to improve throughput and minimize waste.
  

2. Quality & Process Control

• Ensure compliance with product specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
  
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve process deviations and non-conformities.
  
• Implement process control tools such as SPC, PFMEA, and root cause analysis (RCA).
  
• Drive defect reduction and first-pass yield improvement initiatives.
  

3. Tooling & Maintenance

• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of cold forging dies, punches, and tooling.
  
• Coordinate with maintenance for preventive and predictive maintenance of forging presses.
  
• Ensure inventory control and lifecycle management of critical tools and spares.
  

4. People Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators.
  
• Drive training programs to enhance skill levels and ensure safety compliance.
  
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  

5. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives within the forging department.
  
• Collaborate with R&D/Engineering for process innovations and new product development.
  
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and equipment to improve efficiency.
  

6. Safety, Health, and Environment

• Ensure adherence to EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) policies and statutory regulations.
  
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments in the forging area.
  
• Promote safe work practices and zero-accident culture.
  

Preferred candidate profile

• Education:

  B.E./B.Tech

• Experience:

  1020 years in Cold Forging operations, preferably in automotive / fastener / component manufacturing.
• Strong technical expertise in

  multi-station cold forging presses

  ,

  material flow

  , and

  tooling design

  .
• Knowledge of heat treatment, surface finishing, and metallurgical testing is desirable.
  
• Proven track record in productivity improvement, quality enhancement, and cost reduction.
  
• Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
