Role & responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer: COBOL

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using
COBOL
and
Micro Focus
tools.
Work on
policy administration, claims processing, and billing systems
within the insurance domain.
Perform code migration from mainframe to Micro Focus environment.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize COBOL programs for performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and deployment.
Ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.

Required Skills:

Strong experience in
COBOL programming
.
Hands-on expertise with
Micro Focus Enterprise Server / Enterprise Developer
.
Knowledge of
JCL, VSAM, DB2
, and mainframe concepts.
Experience in
insurance domain applications
(policy, claims, underwriting).
Familiarity with
migration projects
from mainframe to distributed systems.
Good understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies.

Nice-to-Have:

Exposure to
Guidewire or other insurance platforms

Knowledge of
RDBMS (Oracle/SQL Server)
.
