CMDB Analyst

The CMDB Analyst position at Johnson Controls in Bangalore requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with 1-2 years of experience in CMDB Management to join the IT service management team. As a CMDB Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which is essential for efficient IT asset management and service delivery. Your key responsibilities will include assisting in the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the CMDB to ensure accurate recording and updating of all configuration items (CIs). You will collaborate closely with various IT teams to gather, document, and validate information related to IT assets, services, and their interdependencies. Regular audits and data quality checks of the CMDB will be conducted by you to identify and rectify discrepancies, ensuring comprehensive and accurate CI records. Furthermore, you will support the integration of CMDB data with other ITSM processes such as incident, problem, and change management to facilitate informed decision-making. Your role will also involve developing, generating, and maintaining reports and dashboards that track CMDB metrics, trends, and performance indicators for stakeholders and management. Participation in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize CMDB processes, workflows, and tools will be expected from you, along with contributing to the development and delivery of training programs on CMDB best practices for team members. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Additionally, you should have 1-2 years of hands-on experience in IT asset management, configuration management, or related fields, demonstrating a foundational understanding of CMDB principles. Familiarity with CMDB tools, knowledge of the ITIL framework, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities are essential for this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, is also required for data analysis, reporting, and visualization purposes. Preferred qualifications for the CMDB Analyst position include experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy, basic understanding of IT infrastructure components and relationships between various IT services, and exposure to project management methodologies and tools.
