Cloud Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor security controls for Azure and Oracle cloud infrastructure, applications, and data.
• Analyze cloud security incidents and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and remediation for cloud environments.
• Monitor cloud network traffic for suspicious activity and respond to security incidents.
• Configure and manage cloud-native security tools (e.g., Azure Security Center, Microsoft Sentinel, Oracle Cloud Guard, Oracle Web Application Firewall).
• Implement and manage identity and access management (IAM) in Azure (Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD) and Oracle Cloud.
• Automate security processes using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Collaborate with IT, DevOps, and development teams to ensure secure deployment and operation of cloud resources.
• Stay up to date with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technology solutions.
• Support DevSecOps practices and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) in the cloud.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or a related role, with a focus on cloud security.
• Strong proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Practical knowledge of cloud security frameworks, firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM tools, and endpoint security.
• Experience securing cloud platforms (Azure and Oracle) and addressing vulnerabilities in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Proficiency with network protocols, authentication systems, and encryption practices in the cloud.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices and secure SDLC in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of IAM principles as applied to cloud platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Specific Azure Security Skills

• Experience with Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Microsoft Sentinel.
• Familiarity with Azure Information Protection, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Policy.
• Ability to implement and manage Azure network security groups, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Knowledge of Azure compliance tools (Microsoft Purview, Compliance Manager).

Specific Oracle Security Skills

• Experience with Oracle Cloud Guard, Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS), and Oracle Key Management Service (KMS).
• Proficiency in configuring Oracle Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Oracle Threat Intelligence Service.
• Ability to manage Oracle IAM, including user roles, policies, and federation.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) security best practices, including compartmentalization, network security, and data encryption.
• Understanding of Oracle’s patch management and vulnerability response processes.
