The Cloud Platform Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering 24x7 operational support for diverse customer cloud environments. The Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of our customers' cloud environments. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. The engineer will proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud infrastructure and services, while adhering to best practices and security standards.
• Proactively monitor customer cloud environments, utilizing tools and automation to detect and respond to incidents.
• Ensure minimal downtime and service disruptions.
• Monitor key performance metrics to identify potential issues and bottlenecks.
• Continuously assess and optimize the performance of customer cloud environments.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and costeffectiveness.
• Respond to incidents promptly and effectively, following established incident response procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Document incident details for continuous improvement.
• Implement and maintain security best practices within customer cloud environments, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. This includes configuring and managing cloud security posture management solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with security threats and vulnerabilities, and apply appropriate patches and updates.
• Provision, configure, and manage cloud resources (VMs, storage, networks, PaaS resources) across Page 2 of 3 multiple cloud platforms.
• Optimize cloud resource utilization to reduce costs and improve performance.
• Provide technical support for core and non-core cloud services.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline routine tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual errors.
• Leverage scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate complex tasks.
• Manage and maintain cloud automation solutions (e.g., PowerShell DSC, Terraform, Ansible) to streamline deployments and configuration tasks.
• Effectively communicate with team members, stakeholders, and customers, providing timely updates and clear explanations of technical concepts.
• Collaborate with other cloud engineers, technical account managers, and customer success managers to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Stay abreast of the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices, pursuing certifications and continuous learning opportunities to enhance technical skills and expertise. • Participate in training and certifications to enhance skills and knowledge. • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical support to customers, addressing their service requests, questions and resolving issues.
• Collaborate with customer success teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Document knowledge base articles and FAQs to improve self-service capabilities.
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Azure Administrator Associate certification - mandatory.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) - highly desirable.
• ITIL Foundation and FinOps Certified Engineer certifications - highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting cloud environments, preferably with Microsoft Azure.
• Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on Cloud Platform Managed Services.
• Experience in working in an environment to manage cloud platform operations at scale aligned with SLAs.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure components such as virtual machines, networking, storage, and databases.
• Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and concepts.
• Knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
• Good verbal and written communication skills for effective engagement with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills to address technical challenges and develop solutions.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
