Clinical Lead in Ophthalmology

As the Clinical Lead for Ophthalmology at the National Treatment Centre in NHS Highland, your role will involve collaborating with the Service Manager and Clinical Director to ensure the smooth operational delivery of departmental services. This will encompass convening and chairing departmental meetings, managing rotas, coordinating annual leave and study leave, conducting staff induction for clinical colleagues, developing protocols and guidelines, addressing complaints, and leading the department in maintaining quality and patient safety. Your responsibilities will include serving as a primary point of communication both internally and externally, advocating for the department's interests within the National Treatment Centre-Highland, the National NTC Network, NHS Highland, and the Board Committee structure. Additionally, you will support the Service Manager in organizing job-planning for medical staff within the department. To excel in this role, you are expected to meet specific criteria, including: - Current practice as a medically qualified Ophthalmology Consultant within NHS Highland - Proficiency in information management and IT literacy - Ability and willingness to manage conflict resolution - Commitment to and endorsement of continuous learning and development - Understanding of or formal training in improvement methodologies aligned with the Highland Quality Approach If you are interested in this position, you should submit your application through the Job Train platform.
