Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience in civil design related to hydroelectric power / pumped storage projects, with a strong focus on designing components such as dams, powerhouse, water conveyance systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development:

  Create detailed designs for various elements of pumped hydro projects, including dams, reservoirs, channels, tunnels, access roads, spillways, and other water conveyance structures. Review designs prepared by consultants.

• Engineering Drawings:

  Prepare and review engineering drawings, layouts, cross-sections and plans for civil structures using CAD software.

• Feasibility Studies:

  Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and surveys to support the selection and design of project locations. Review FR/ PFR prepared by consultants.

• Project Coordination:

  Work closely with other engineering disciplines (geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical) to ensure comprehensive and cohesive design solutions.

• Compliance and Standards:

  Ensure all designs adhere to relevant codes, standards, and environmental regulations, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and efficiency. Getting clearance from Statutory Authorities like CWC, GSI, CSMRS.

• Software Application:

  Utilize design and modelling software such as STAAD Pro, HEC RAS, HAMMER, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Rocscience Package, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other civil engineering tools for precise and efficient project planning.

• Cost Estimation:

  Provide input for cost estimation, budgeting, and scheduling of project phases, taking into account material selection and construction techniques.

• Technical Support:

  Offer technical support during DPR & construction phases, addressing any design-related issues or modifications required on-site.

• Documentation:

  Prepare detailed technical reports, project documentation, and design calculations to present to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Education:

  Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience:

  Minimum of 8+ years of experience in civil design, preferably in hydroelectric or water infrastructure projects.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, HEC RAS, HAMMER, Rocscience Package, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other civil design software.
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic principles as applied to water infrastructure projects.
• Experience with slope stability analysis, earthworks, and soil-structure interaction.

• Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Certifications:

  Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
