Roles & Responsibilities: - Perform design and analyses calculations for wet utilities like potable water, sewer, stormwater, and highway drainage. - Develop general arrangements, layouts, plans, and profiles. - Research and propose design options and documents. - Prepare engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, specifications, and designs. - Provide technical guidance to CAD Designers and junior Engineers. - Engage confidently with clients through meetings and presentations. Education and Professional Skills: - Bachelors in Civil Engineering and/or Masters in Water Resources Engineering/Environmental/Hydraulics Engineering. - 5-15 years of relevant work experience in infrastructure engineering design, focusing on water, wastewater, and storm drainage networks. - Proficiency in modelling tools such as SewerGems, WaterGems, HEC-HMS, HEC RAS, Infoworks ICM, WS Pro, Civil 3D, Navisworks, etc. - Experience in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment. - Strong report writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively. - Excellent presentation skills, initiative, motivation, and a team player mindset. - Previous international work experience, particularly in Africa and the Middle East, would be advantageous. As an Infrastructure Engineer (Wet Utilities) at Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners), you will be responsible for performing design/analyses calculations related to wet utilities such as potable water, sewer, stormwater, and highway drainage using your engineering expertise. Your role will also entail interacting with clients through meetings and presentations, requiring a confident and positive demeanor. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering and/or a Masters in Water Resources Engineering/Environmental/Hydraulics Engineering discipline. With 6-15 years of relevant work experience in infrastructure engineering design, particularly in water, wastewater, and storm drainage networks, you should have demonstrated progressively increasing responsibility. Previous experience in modelling development using tools such as Sewer Gems, Water Gems, HEC-HMS, HEC RAS, InfoWorks ICM, WS Pro, Civil 3D, Navisworks, etc., will be advantageous. Additionally, experience in working in a multi-disciplinary consultancy environment, along with strong report writing and presentation skills, is essential for this role.
