Children’s Book Illustration Supervisor

Job Overview

We are looking for a creative and experienced Illustration Supervisor to lead our children’s book illustration team. The ideal candidate will have a strong artistic background, experience in visual storytelling for children, and the ability to guide a team of illustrators from concept to final artwork.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Supervision

•Lead and supervise a team of children’s book illustrators

•Review and guide illustration concepts, character designs, and storytelling visuals

•Ensure the illustration style matches client expectations and project guidelines

•Provide constructive feedback to maintain high artistic quality and consistency

•Coordinate with writers, editors, and animation teams for seamless creative flow

Project Management

•Manage multiple book projects and ensure timely delivery

•Plan and allocate work based on team strengths and project deadlines

•Maintain communication with clients for feedback and approvals

•Ensure all artwork meets publishing standards and formatting requirements

•Guide revisions based on client and editorial feedback

Hands-On Contribution

•Contribute to key illustrations when needed (especially character development and cover art)

•Help create illustration templates and visual references for the team

•Stay updated with trends in children’s publishing and visual storytelling

Requirements

•Minimum 5 years of experience in children’s book illustration

•Proven experience leading or supervising an art/illustration team

•Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration work for children's books

•Excellent understanding of storytelling, composition, color theory, and child-friendly design

•Proficiency in digital illustration tools (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, etc.)

•Ability to manage time and meet tight deadlines

•Strong communication and leadership skills

•Attention to detail and a passion for children’s content

•Prior experience working with international publishers is a plus

•Able to relocate or commute to Trivandrum, Kerala
