CHIEF OF MISSION SUPPORT

As a Chief of Mission Support at the United Nations Secretariat, you will be responsible for supporting the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) or Head of Mission in various peacekeeping operations, special political missions, service centers, and offices. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing support to the SRSG or Head of Mission in strategic planning and decision-making processes - Overseeing and managing the mission's budget and financial resources - Coordinating with various departments to ensure the efficient functioning of the mission - Representing the mission in external meetings and forums - Supervising and mentoring staff within the mission support team To qualify for this role, you should have: - A Master's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Public Administration, or a related field - At least 10 years of relevant work experience in mission support, administration, or related fields - Proficiency in English and French is required, knowledge of another UN official language is an advantage In addition to the specific qualifications mentioned above, the ideal candidate will also possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a proven track record of successful project management.
