Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as the Chief Manager - Product & Buying for our esteemed Apparel Retail Brand. This pivotal role is based in Gurugram and offers an annual salary of 26,00,000. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in retail operations and product management, with a proven track record in buying and category management. As a key leader in our organization, you will be responsible for driving product strategy and ensuring that our offerings align with market trends and customer preferences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the product management and buying functions, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and sales performance.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and consumer preferences, translating insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and supply chain, to ensure seamless execution of product launches and promotions.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and pricing for products.
  • Monitor inventory levels and sales performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize stock levels and product assortments.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on product performance, market trends, and competitive analysis to senior management.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in retail operations, merchandising, and product management, preferably within the apparel sector.
  • Strong understanding of buying processes and category management principles.
  • Proven ability to analyze market trends and consumer behavior to inform product development and buying decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a track record of building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools to drive informed decision-making.
