Chief Engineer - Inspection

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Inspection at new plant project (Pipe joint inspection, welding WPS, PMI of materials, Radiography film assessment)
• Visual examination of fit up and Weld joints.
• Witness of hydro test of different piping system, storage tank and pressure vessels
• Incoming material test by PMI.
• QAP check & approval for pressure vessel fabrication & piping material.
• Stage wise & final inspection of new pressure vessel.
• Perform inspection activities, non-destructive test like DP Test, Spark test, Positive material Identification test, Hardness test, Coating thickness measurement, radiography film review.
• Witness of NDT like MT, RT, UT, VT Certification, Eddy current testing performing by third party. (Preferably ASNT NDT level 2)
• Coating inspection for new & re-painting jobs
• In service plant static equipment condition monitoring like reactor, pressurized storage tank, distillation column atmospheric storage tank, heat exchanger, glass/rubber/PVDF/FEP/Epoxy lined vessel, PVC + FRP vessel.
• Corrosion monitoring of critical piping loop & vessel as per schedule or condition based.
• Evaluation of corrosion mechanism & protection, failure analysis of vessel & piping.
• Recommendation for repair of piping segment, vessel.
• Shut down inspection-vessel internal, heat exchanger tube bundle, column internal parts.
• Create industry standard welding procedures as per requirement
• Review of WPS and WPQ before doing welding works
• Contractor welder qualification
• Condition monitoring of plant structure in running plant.
• Proof load testing of lifting tools like chain pulley block , wire rope , wire sling , nylon belt , D-shackle
• Statutory requirement compliance documentation (form 11) for pressure vessel, lifting tools (form 9-10), pressure safety valves (rule 18 peso).
• Knowledge of standards like ASME Sec IIA, IIB and IIC, Sec VIII , Sec IX, Sec V
• Knowledge of welding of CS, LTCS, Ni and alloys, Ti and alloys, Cu Ni alloys
• PSV testing witness as per API 527

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :

BE / B. Tech Mechanical with NDT [Level II]

RELEVANT AND TOTAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Total 6 -8 years hands on experience
