Job Description for Chemist – Pellet Plant:

Department: Quality Control / Laboratory
Experience: 2 – 6 Years (preferred in Iron Ore Pellet / Steel / Mining industry)
Qualification: B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Chemist for our Pellet Plant laboratory to perform chemical testing, analysis, and quality control of raw materials, green pellets, fired pellets, and related process inputs. The role ensures consistent pellet quality, supports production with accurate test results, and maintains compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials (iron ore fines, bentonite, limestone, coke, etc.).
• Test green pellets, fired pellets, and intermediate samples for chemical properties.
• Operate laboratory instruments such as Spectrometer, Carbon-Sulphur Analyzer, XRF, and wet chemistry setups.
• Monitor pellet quality parameters like Fe, SiO₂, Al₂O₃, CaO, MgO, LOI, etc.
• Provide timely test results to production team for process control and corrective actions.
• Maintain laboratory records, calibration schedules, and daily quality reports.
• Ensure compliance with BIS/ISO standards and customer specifications.
• Follow all lab safety standards and proper chemical handling procedures.
• Assist in process optimization to achieve consistent pellet quality and cost efficiency.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry and mineral testing.
• Experience with pellet plant raw materials and processes.
• Proficiency in wet chemical analysis and modern lab instruments.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in coordination with production teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
