Job Description

Support Section Head Reliability Electrical in planning, organising, and ensuring deployment of maintenance practices for all electrical transformer and switchgear equipment to contribute to equipment availability, reliability, and operational efficiency with focus on development of capabilities for electrical engineers, budgets, and cost optimisation measures.
Improve reliability through Continuous Improvement techniques, up-gradation, projects, and implementation of advanced diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques.
Transformer and switchgear system design engineering review, commissioning.
Provide engineering support, engineering assessment, engineering design, troubleshooting, and root cause failure analysis to T&S power system for safe and reliable operation.
Provide engineering expertise support for project development, factory acceptance testing and inspections, site acceptance testing of electrical equipment.
Periodic performance monitoring and benchmarking of transformer and switchgear electrical equipment.
Review various power system reliability studies and prepare power system model through ETAP.
Maintain 33kV, 11kV, 6.6kV, 3.3kV, 415V switchgear protection schemes, protection relay setting, and relay coordination.
Familiarity with advanced numerical protection relay and its functionality, including setting and parametrization.
Preparation of site maintenance budgeting, optimization of resources and spares.
Conduct periodic audits to identify gaps and ensure operation and maintenance practices adhere to Group Standards and Best Maintenance Practices.
Maintain IMS documentation.
Implement Group guidelines and LFIs for reliability improvement. Incorporate significant reliability shared lessons learnt into engineering technical procedures.

Skills and Competencies

Basic knowledge of electrical equipment design engineering, applicable codes and standards, factory acceptance test (type and routine), best installation practices, and commissioning.
Exposure to hands-on experience of pre-commissioning, commissioning, and site acceptance testing.
Knowledge of best maintenance practices, testing and diagnostic, energy conservation measures, project management. Ability to manage and lead a team of electrical engineers with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
Advanced protection relay setting, parametrization, and testing.
Analytical thinking and managing ambiguity.
Knowledge of reliability tools such as Reliability Centred Maintenance and FMEA.
Teaming, leading, and developing people.
Decision making, strategic direction, and managing change.
Understanding various cross-functional knowledge areas.
Knowledge of SAP PM/MM modules.

Education Required

BE / ME / B Tech / M Tech in Electrical Engineering
