Job Description- Cath Lab Technician

Experience—Min. 2-5 yrs

Qualification—Diploma/Degree in Cath Lab

Responsibilities and Key Tasks

Prior to surgery, the Cath Lab technician is responsible for ensuring the EPS & RFA, Cath Lab machines, TPI machines, and other equipment are in working order, and during the procedure, the Cath Lab technician will monitor the readouts and keep the doctor apprised of anything considered abnormal from readings derived from Cath Lab equipment.
The Cath Lab technician will also prepare the patient for the procedure by cleaning along with the nursing staff. They will assist the nursing staff in the case of cardiac catheterization for angioplasty, anesthetizing the area of insertion.
Cath Lab technicians will assist doctors during open heart surgery and with the insertion of pacemakers or stents. Again, the Cath Lab technician will be the one responsible for preparing and monitoring the patient in these instances.
Daily non-surgical duties include reading and interpreting test procedures and explaining the procedures to patients.
Keeping stock of requirements for smooth functioning of the Cath lab along with following instructions and duties instructed by the Head of Department.
Assist the cardiologist in cardiac interventions.
