Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • The role holder will be responsible for managing the Category FMCG team for the Region assigned. He / She will be responsible for managing Category FMCG for the entire region comprising of approx 20 - 30 stores.
  • Will be leading a team of 8 - 10 members for buying National & Regional FMCG brands. Will be responsible for conducting classroom training and On-The- Job training for the team members. Groom and develop the team members reporting into him / her.
  • He/she shall be coordinating and addressing challenges in buying and movement of goods from vendor to DC and DC to stores leading up to sales to ensure smooth business. Shall be meeting Key vendor partners on regular basis for negotiations , forecasting and category development initiatives
  • He/she shall be closely working with various teams including Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase and Central purchase to maximize offtakes and ensure best promotions in stores.
  • Discuss and close Monthly, Quarterly plans with FMCG vendors including demand planning, Promotions and smooth supplies to stores.
  • Will be responsible for training and grooming Purchase officers and Asst Purchase managers on the job as as well in class room trainings.
  • Shall be solely responsible for availability in DC as well stores day in day out. Apart from this maintaining competitive pricing in market shall be his/her core job. Must be willing to travel across locations within the region assigned and PAN India. The role holder will be based in the Regional office with reporting to the Category FMCG Head at HO.

Requisites:

  • Must be a Graduate /Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 Years experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience in General Trade will be preferred. Must be experienced in managing a similar role.
  • Knowledge of local language / location of posting, is required. Must be willing to travel.
  • Must possess good communication, negotiation, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have very good team management and training skills as he / she will be managing a large team and will be responsible for training and grooming the team members.
