Job Description: Cashier – Theobroma

Position: Cashier
Location: Theobroma (Chocolate Lounge & Bakery)
Department: Front of House
Reports To: Store Manager / Shift Supervisor

Role Overview

As a Cashier at Theobroma, you will be the face of the store, providing warm and efficient customer service. You will manage billing operations, assist customers with product selections, and ensure a smooth and pleasant in-store experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, accuracy, and a customer-first attitude.

Key Responsibilities1. Customer Service

  • Greet customers warmly and maintain a friendly atmosphere.
  • Assist customers with menu inquiries, product details, and recommendations.
  • Manage customer queues and ensure timely service.

2. Billing & Cash Handling

  • Operate the POS system efficiently for billing, returns, and payments.
  • Handle cash, cards, and digital payments accurately.
  • Maintain cash drawer balance and follow cash-handling protocols.

3. Product Knowledge

  • Stay updated on bakery items, chocolates, beverages, and new launches.
  • Inform customers about ongoing offers, combos, and promotions.

4. Store Operations

  • Ensure billing counter cleanliness and proper display of items.
  • Pack takeaway orders neatly and accurately.
  • Coordinate with bakery and kitchen teams for order readiness.

5. Compliance & Standards

  • Follow hygiene, safety, and quality standards set by Theobroma.
  • Adhere to store policies regarding billing, returns, and customer service.
  • Support inventory checks for packaged items near the counter.

Skills & QualificationsEssential

  • 10th/12th pass or equivalent; higher education is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a cashier or in customer service (F&B preferred).
  • Basic computer and POS handling skills.
  • Strong communication (English and/or local language).

Preferred

  • Experience in cafés, bakeries, or QSR environments.
  • Ability to handle high footfall during peak hours.

  • Detail-oriented with strong numerical accuracy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Work Conditions
