Job Summary: The Career Counselor is responsible for guiding individuals in understanding their career goals, strengths, and aptitudes, and helping them make informed decisions about education, training, and job opportunities. The counselor provides one-on-one sessions, group workshops, and assessment tools to support career development across various age groups and educational levels. Key Responsibilities: Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assist clients in identifying interests, skills, and potential career paths. Administer and interpret career assessments such as MBTI, Strong Interest Inventory, or aptitude tests. Assist students or clients with resume writing, job searching, interviewing, and networking strategies. Guide students on academic planning and course selection aligned with their career aspirations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of job market trends, employment opportunities, and educational programs. Establish partnerships with employers, training institutions, and universities for internships and job placements. Organize career fairs, workshops, and guest speaker events. Provide support for career transitions, midlife career changes, and returning to the workforce. Maintain confidential records and follow ethical counseling practices. Use career development software and tools to manage client interactions and track progress. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, human resources, or a related field (master’s degree preferred). Certification in career counseling (e.g., GCDF, NCDA, or equivalent) is a plus. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with diverse populations and age groups. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with career assessment tools. Experience with online career platforms or career development software. Event planning and workshop facilitation. Empathetic and solution-focused approach. Work Environment: Full-time May include occasional evening or weekend hours for events or counseling sessions.
