Job Title: Car AC Technician Department: Service & Maintenance Location: [Specify Location] Reports To: Service Manager / Workshop Supervisor Job Summary: The Car AC Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining air conditioning systems in vehicles. The role involves detecting faults, performing gas refilling, compressor repairs, and ensuring proper cooling performance as per manufacturer standards. Key Responsibilities: Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicle air conditioning (AC) systems. Check and refill refrigerant gases (R134a / R1234yf, etc.) as required. Repair or replace compressors, condensers, evaporators, hoses, and valves. Test AC performance and ensure proper airflow, temperature, and pressure. Perform AC system leak tests and use appropriate tools for diagnostics. Maintain accurate records of services and parts used. Ensure all repairs meet safety and environmental regulations. Collaborate with service advisors and technicians for integrated vehicle service. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of tools, equipment, and work area. Required Qualifications & Skills: ITI / Diploma in Automobile, Mechanical, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. 1–10 years of experience as a Car AC Technician (freshers with training may apply). Strong understanding of automotive AC systems and refrigerants. Skilled in using AC gauges, vacuum pumps, and diagnostic tools. Attention to detail and good troubleshooting ability. Safety-conscious and team-oriented. Preferred: Experience in authorized car service centers or multi-brand workshops. Knowledge of hybrid or electric vehicle AC systems. Certification in automotive AC or HVAC systems.
