Job Summary:

CAM Machining Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop CAM programs using

  SolidCAM

  (integrated with SolidWorks) for a range of CNC machines including

  VMCs, VTLs, and Turning Centers

  .
• Generate 2D and 3D tool paths for complex geometries and operations involving

  milling, turning, drilling, and contouring

  .
• Interpret 2D mechanical drawings and convert them into CAM programs for

  2D machining operations

  .
• Select appropriate tools, cutting parameters, and machining strategies to ensure surface finish, accuracy, and cycle time optimization.
• Work with machinists and production teams to ensure successful execution of programs on the shop floor.
• Simulate and validate tool paths using SolidCAM before deployment to minimize errors and reduce machine downtime.
• Assist in fixture design, setup sheets, and process planning documentation.
• Continuously improve programs and processes for higher efficiency and reduced wastage.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Proficient in

  SolidCAM

  programming for both 2D and 3D operations.
• Strong understanding of

  G-code

  , machine kinematics, and CNC controller interfaces (Fanuc, Siemens, etc.).
• Sound knowledge of

  machining processes

  including roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing of fabricated and cast components.
• Ability to read and interpret

  engineering drawings

  , GD&T, and material specs.
• Hands-on experience in programming for materials like

  steel, aluminum, and cast iron

  in both medium and large sizes.
• Familiarity with

  precision machining

  ,

  tight tolerance control

  , and

  tool life management

  .
• Effective communication and collaboration with design and production teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in

  Mechanical Engineering

  ,

  Manufacturing Engineering

  , or related field.

• 3–7 years

  of experience in

  CAM programming

  , with proven hands-on exposure to

  SolidCAM

  .
• Experience in a

  fabrication-heavy or precision machining environment

  is essential.

Preferred Background:

• Candidates with experience in

  heavy equipment manufacturing

  ,

  tool rooms

  , or companies like PreetGroup involved in

  EOT cranes, large assemblies, and custom engineering

  solutions will be preferred.
