Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated CAD Engineer with a strong focus on SolidWorks-based mechanical design. You will work closely with the engineering team to design, model, and refine mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace and defense applications. The role involves 3D modeling, detailed drawings, basic structural analysis, and supporting design validation through simulation.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D part and assembly models using SolidWorks.

• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T and proper documentation.

• Perform basic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent tools.

• Support design optimization based on simulation results and engineering requirements.

• Assist in material selection and design for manufacturability (DFM).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine mechanical designs.

• Maintain CAD data, version control, and design documentation.

• Document design workflows, assumptions, and analysis results.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills

• Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with SolidWorks (parts, assemblies, and drawings).

• Industry or project experience using SolidWorks for mechanical or aerospace components.

• Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and its application in design validation.

• Understanding of mechanical design principles and structural behavior.

• Completed undergraduate/graduate degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• Ability to interpret technical requirements and engineering drawings.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience using SolidWorks Simulation for structural or thermal analysis.

• Exposure to aerospace or defense-related mechanical systems.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as CNC machining or additive manufacturing.

• Knowledge of materials used in aerospace or high-performance applications.
