Profile Summary
CAD Designer will be responsible for designing and developing products related to Space Science. He/She will be creating accurate and detailed technical 2D and 3D designs models using computer-aided design software and also have hands-on experience creating prototypes.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
● To understand the business requirements of our Research & Development team, and to work on our designing needs.
● To create technical drawings, blueprints, 2D and 3D simulations using CAD software and industrial designing knowledge.
● To ensure accuracy and precision and details in all the drawings, taking in the team's considerations and other technical factors like dimensions, materials and other variable factors involved in the product designing.
● Conceptualize the lifecycle of product development, create a prototype, execute testing and implementing variations and deliver/manufacture a final product using crude computer visualizations.
● To help us communicate our products effectively within internal and external vendors and to our clients and look up to emerging business models in which we are fabricating observatory domes.
● Review drawings for errors or discrepancies and make necessary revisions of designs.
● Stay updated with existing and new product designing, with recent industry trends and advancements in CAD technology.
● Coordinate with Vendors for designing materials to create prototypes, keep a record on bills for cost of materials and maintain the record for the same.
● Collaborate with cross functional departments to understand individual project and product requirements and specifications.
● Working with a diverse team, such as engineers, astronomers, prototyping experts
Knowledge
● Education - B.Tech.
● M.Tech. (Mechanical Engineering/Industrial Design) will be good to have.
● Experience- Fresher to 5 years experience. exposure in CAD or 3D model designing
● Good knowledge of CAD and other related software’s of product designing
Skills
● Strong knowledge of engineering principles and designing processes
● Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
● Proficient in using Solidworks
● Added advantage: Knowledge of Solidworks
● Added advantage: ANSYS and can operate a 3D printer.
Attitude
● Willing to work independently and in a team
● Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise technical drawings
● Open to take feedbacks, suggestions, and strong follow ups for product improvements
