Cad Designer - Furniture & interiors

As a CAD Designer specializing in retail furniture and interiors, your primary responsibility will be to create accurate and practical designs aligned with client requirements, project standards, and production capabilities. You will collaborate with the design and sales team, generate detailed drawings, and ensure design feasibility and accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: - Create detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, and furniture layout drawings using AutoCAD or similar software. - Prepare 3D views/models for furniture elements and interior layouts using SketchUp or other 3D tools. - Collaborate with the design and sales team to understand client requirements and convert them into technical drawings. - Generate detailed furniture component drawings for production, including joinery, hardware positioning, and laminate specs. - Work closely with production and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy. - Revise designs based on feedback from clients, site conditions, or material availability. - Maintain organized design records, drawing logs, and version control. - Coordinate with vendors or fabricators for technical clarity. Qualifications Required: - Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related technical field. - Minimum 2 years of experience in CAD designing for retail furniture, modular kitchens, wardrobes, or interior fit-outs. - Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential) and preferably SketchUp or other 3D modeling tools. - Knowledge of modular furniture systems, materials (ply, laminate, hardware), and industry standards. - Strong attention to detail and excellent drafting accuracy. - Ability to read architectural drawings and translate them into furniture/interior layouts. - Good communication and coordination skills.
