We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Support Manager - External Audit, Core Finance COO Principal responsibilities Prepared by client (PBC) activities and deliverables are recorded and actions distributed to business areas Coordination of the audit plan, including tracking of requests and responses. Proactive requests and management of scheduled activity based on agreed plan with PwC. PwC have access to appropriate systems, tools and equipment in line with Information Security, Data Privacy and Compliance requirements. This role is a part of the Core Finance COO team, to ensure resilience and business continuity this role and others in the team will support share objectives and may apply key skills (collation, consolidation/ action tracking etc) to other CF activities. Delivery of information to PwC in line with audit plan, emerging issues dealt with appropriately, timely production of Audit & Non Audit fees related MI reports, Overruns of fees managed to a minimum.; UK Statutory accounts delivered to plan., Non-Financial Risks managed within appetite. To support the delivery of an audit as agreed between HSBC and PwC consistent approach is adopted at all times through identifying efficiency opportunities. The role-holder will need to understand HSBC s operations, especially outside of Finance they will also need awareness of our products, systems and processes and have a critical nature to ensure correct deliverables to PWC. There are considerable opportunities to use the audit as a positive force for change, namely through greater standardization of process and adoption of technology across HSBC. The role-holder will need to be able to help identify such change including the navigation of relevant policies around governance, data sovereignty or regulation. The jobholder has responsibility for undertaking logistics and practical action to ensuring that non-Financial risks are managed in accordance with the Group Standards Manual, Risk FIM, & relevant guidelines & standards. The jobholder should comply with the detailed expectations and responsibilities for operational risk management through ensuring all actions take account of operational risks, and following processes to escalate and control risks effectively. The jobholder will support the monitoring of non-financial risks associated with the audit and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings and the impact of new technology. This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring and by addressing any areas of concern with line management and/or the appropriate department. The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators, he/she will also adhere to the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term compliance embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply. The role will require the holder to track and operate according to a complex plan and influence a wide variety of different stakeholders inside Finance, other global functions and within the businesses to obtain deliverables and proactively manage PWC requests; to monitor the Audit & Non Audit fees & expenses of the Auditors closely, working with PwC & our internal stakeholders through a renewed process where Audit Control team is put firmly in the related information flows; will have to on a regular basis support the onboarding of PWC auditors and provision of access / data / IT requirements to support the smooth operation of the external Audit Requirements Finance, Risk and project management experience. Third Party Management and access/data/IT experience. Understands consolidation, ie from legal entity to Group, and collation of information and requests. Project management, interpersonal, organizational, influencing, problem-solving and communication skills, both verbal and written. Awareness of banking products across all lines of business. Awareness of the opportunities presented by and the importance of managing relevant risk around technology Awareness of how product data can translate from source to financial statements. Knowledge of HSBC product and/or Finance systems. Must be able to plan, monitor and control projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work globally with many different parties, including matrix reporting.
