Position:

Job Summary:

BI Developer

Key Responsibilities:

Dashboard Development:

• Design and develop interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using

  Power BI and Tableau

  .
• Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability.

Data Analysis and Modelling:

• Develop and maintain complex

  DAX formulas

  to create calculated columns, measures, and tables.
• Perform data transformation and cleansing using

  Power Query and M language

  .
• Create and optimize data models with proper relationships and hierarchies.
• Support

  metadata migration

  activities between BI platforms when required.

Data Integration & ETL:

• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources such as

  SQL Server, Excel, Azure, APIs, and flat files

  .
• Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity across platforms.

Data Visualization & Storytelling:

• Create intuitive visualizations that effectively communicate business trends and insights.
• Implement advanced chart types, slicers, filters, and drill-downs.

Collaboration & Requirements Gathering:

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical BI solutions.
• Provide training and documentation for end-users.
• Assist in reporting platform transitions and

  metadata migration initiatives

Performance Optimization:

• Optimize report performance by enhancing DAX queries, reducing load times, and managing large datasets efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data inconsistencies, visualization bugs, and performance bottlenecks.

Version Control and Best Practices:

• Follow version control practices using

  Git or Azure DevOps

• Adhere to industry best practices for BI development and metadata management.

Technical Skills Required:

BI & Reporting Tools:

• Strong expertise in

  Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server, and Power BI Embedded

  .
• Hands-on experience with

  Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server

  .
• Experience in

  metadata migration

  between BI tools or reporting platforms.

Data Modeling & Transformation:

• Proficiency in

  DAX formulas

  for data modeling and calculations.
• Strong experience with

  Power Query

  for data transformation.

ETL and Data Handling:

• Proficiency in ETL processes and data extraction from multiple sources.
• Strong experience with

  SQL queries

  for data extraction and manipulation.

Data Visualization and Analysis:

• Strong knowledge of data visualization principles and best practices.
• Ability to create insightful drill-down reports and interactive dashboards.

Programming & Scripting:

• Good understanding of

  SQL/R/Python, or M language

  for data manipulation (optional but preferred).

Cloud and Big Data Platforms (Optional):

• Experience with

  Azure Synapse, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift

  is a plus.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Relevant experience as a

  BI Developer

  using Power BI and Tableau.
• Strong proficiency in

  DAX formulas

  and advanced data modeling techniques.
• Hands-on experience in

  SQL queries, ETL processes, and metadata migration

  .
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders.

Preferred / Optional Skills:

• Experience with SAP BO (BusinessObjects)

  including reports or universes.
• Experience with

  Power Automate or Power Apps

  integration.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data sources (

  Azure, AWS, or GCP

  ).
• Knowledge of

  agile methodologies

  and version control tools.
• Experience in

  data governance, metadata management, and security concepts
