The Regional Business Development Manager for Odisha will be responsible for driving growth, building distribution networks, and expanding the companys solar business in the region. This includes active engagement with government agencies such as OREDA (Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency) and RWSS (Rural Water Supply & Sanitation), supervision of regional operations, and maintaining strong service and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Drive business growth for solar pumps and other solutions in Odisha.
Appoint and nurture 5 to 6 distributors across key locations in Odisha.
Meet daily with solar pump system integrators to generate business.
Identify and engage with new clients, contractors, and government bodies.
Government & Compliance
Demonstrate deep understanding of OREDA and RWSS processes, requirements, and tenders.
Maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders.
Ensure full compliance for all projects and documentation required by state agencies.
Project Management
Manage execution of solar pumping projects, including sub-contractor coordination.
Set up and oversee at least two regional service centers in Odisha.
Oversee and support all regional service activities and government relationships.
Team & Reporting
Lead, guide, and develop a team of 4 to 5 service engineers.
Ensure timely and accurate MIS (Management Information System) reports to headquarters in Bengaluru, including daily and weekly summaries.
Monitor project status, service calls, and distributor performance regularly.
Client Service
Resolve all regional service issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and execute prompt after-sales support.
Develop processes to enhance customer service and loyalty.
Travel & Market Expansion
Willingness to travel extensively across Odisha as per business needs.

Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 46 years in business development, with a strong background in solar energy products (solar pumps preferred).
Regional Exposure: Must have hands-on experience in the Odisha solar market and familiarity with OREDA and RWSS procedures.
Leadership: Proven ability to handle a small technical/service team and distributor network.
Reporting: Experience in preparing and presenting proper MIS, business, and service reports.
Integrity: Demonstrates high ethical standards, honesty, and integrity.
Compensation: Comfortable working with a compensation structure of 60% fixed and 40% variable pay; variable component linked directly to regional revenue achievement.
Skills & Attributes
Excellent communication and negotiation skills (Odia language proficiency is a plus).
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Technical know-how of solar pump solutions and project execution.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to fast-changing environments.
Proactive, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
