Business Development Manager (BDM)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Spare Parts Manager to own our parts sales, inventory and team. You will make sure the right parts are in stock when customers need them, keep inventory lean and healthy, and grow sales and margins. You will report directly to the Proprietor and play a key part in the business's growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve monthly sales targets across vehicle owners, fleet owners, garages and retailers
• Plan stock and place orders with Ashok Leyland, Avtec, Rane and other suppliers
• Negotiate prices, credit terms and schemes with suppliers
• Keep fast-moving parts always available while controlling slow and non-moving stock
• Run ABC/FSN analysis, reorder levels and stock ageing reviews
• Manage the warehouse: bin locations, FIFO, receiving, dispatch and periodic stock audits
• Handle customer returns and supplier claims for defects, shortages and transit damage
• Ensure accurate GST billing, control discounts and follow up on receivables
• Lead, train and review a team of sales, counter and store staff
• Report monthly performance to the Proprietor

Requirements

• 3+ years in automobile spare parts sales, stores or purchase at a dealer, distributor or retailer
• Strong knowledge of LCV parts and part numbers; Ashok Leyland experience preferred
• Good understanding of the local retail and garage market
• Hands-on with Tally/Busy and Excel
• Target-driven, detail-oriented and honest with stock and cash
• Team handling experience preferred
• Graduate preferred; Diploma or B.E. in Automobile/Mechanical is an advantage
• Ability to speak Telugu, English or Hindi
