Business Analyst - Risk & Order Management Systems

Upstox is seeking an experienced Business Analyst specializing in risk management and order management systems within the stock broking domain. In this role, you will serve as the liaison between the Risk Management team and the Engineering/Product teams, ensuring the development of regulatory-compliant, scalable, and efficient risk systems. Your responsibilities will include gathering and documenting business requirements for risk workflows, pre-trade risk checks, margining, exposure limits, and order handling in collaboration with the Risk Management team. You will be tasked with translating these requirements into clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), wireframes, and user stories. Working closely with Engineering teams, you will oversee the correct implementation and prioritization of features. A key aspect of this role involves designing the in-house Order and Risk Management System (ORMS) architecture to align with regulatory, trading, and operational requirements. You will also be responsible for monitoring daily risk operations, identifying process gaps, and suggesting system-driven enhancements. Additionally, you will support testing and validation of new features and configurations through User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure compliance with SEBI regulations and exchange circulars by collaborating with Compliance and Operations. Handling escalations related to order rejections, risk breaches, margin shortfalls, and trading limits will be part of your routine tasks. Furthermore, maintaining documentation and process maps across various asset classes such as equity, derivatives, and commodities will be essential. The ideal candidate should possess at least 7 years of experience in stock broking firms in roles related to Risk, Product, or Business Analysis. A strong understanding of Order Management and Risk Management Systems, familiarity with SEBI regulations, and proven experience in writing PRDs and user flows are required. Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, Excel, and basic SQL is necessary, along with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
