Board Support Package (BSP) Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain

  Board Support Packages (BSP)

  for embedded platforms.
• Work on low-level software components such as

  device drivers (DD)

  ,

  runtime environments (RTR)

  , bootloaders, and hardware abstraction layers.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to enable and validate hardware functionality.
  
• Participate in the development and/or testing of

  safety-critical systems

  adhering to

  DO-178B/C

  or

  ISO 26262

  standards.
• Design and execute

  test cases

  , ensuring comprehensive coverage and compliance with development procedures.
• Debug and resolve hardware/software integration issues efficiently.
  
• Generate

  test reports

  and documentation aligned with safety and quality standards.
• Contribute to

  safety lifecycle activities

  , including requirements traceability, verification, and validation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4 to 10 years

  of hands-on experience in BSP development or testing.
• Strong expertise in

  Embedded C programming

  and debugging embedded systems.
• Solid understanding of

  DO-178B/C

  (avionics) or

  ISO 26262

  (automotive) safety standards.
• Experience with

  device drivers

  , bootloaders, memory management, and hardware bring-up.
• Skilled in

  test case design

  ,

  development procedures

  , and

  test execution

  .
• Experience in tools and techniques for debugging embedded targets (e.g., JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in both

  development and testing

  roles.
• Exposure to tools like

  VectorCAST

  ,

  LDRA

  ,

  DOORS

  , or similar for verification and traceability.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and microcontroller architectures (ARM, PowerPC, etc.).
  
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation is a plus.
