Job Description

designs and develops medical equipment, devices, and software to improve patient care and the healthcare industry

Design and development:
Create new medical equipment, software, and devices, such as artificial organs, prosthetics, and diagnostic machines.
Research:
Conduct research on biological systems and develop new theories and technologies to improve healthcare.
Installation and maintenance:
Install, maintain, and provide technical support for biomedical equipment in clinical settings.
Evaluation and optimization:
Assess the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical devices and work to optimize their performance.
Collaboration:
Work with doctors, scientists, and other medical professionals to develop and implement solutions.
Training:
Train other personnel, such as clinicians, on how to properly use new equipment.
Documentation:
Write technical reports and research papers to document their findings and projects.

Required skills and qualifications

Education:
A bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related field is typically required; a master's or Ph.D. may be preferred for some roles.
