Job Description

As a biomass processing specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing execution support for plant engineering and field trials related to fuel processing and quality assurance equipment. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and installing plant machinery for optimal cost and throughput, conducting field trials for new fuels processing equipment, and ensuring the smooth operation of the QA program through Field Test Kits (FTK). Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the fuel processing business team to ensure first-time-right plant engineering for the shortest order to commissioning time. - Conduct rigorous performance validation trials for fuel processing equipment. - Manage OEM interactions for selecting the right partners and optimizing layouts for biomass processing equipment installations. - Coordinate field trials to validate equipment performance and reliability. - Analyze machine performance data to identify areas for efficiency improvement. - Support troubleshooting and maintenance activities at plant locations. - Evaluate new machinery and OEMs for suitability and cost-effectiveness. - Implement productivity improvement strategies and lead continuous improvement projects, including Kaizen initiatives. - Document and disseminate best practices through training sessions, workshops, articles, and SOPs. - Support the FTK program for installation, calibration, training, and troubleshooting. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth operations and drive improvements. Qualifications Required: - Graduate degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - 5-8 years of hands-on experience in equipment layout design, field trials, and machinery optimization. - Familiarity with biomass processing technologies such as briquetting, pelleting, biochar, and gasification plants. - Experience working with OEMs for equipment evaluation and troubleshooting. - Strong analytical skills for driving cost and productivity improvements. - Previous involvement in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen. - Self-starter with the ability to make independent decisions based on field insights. - Detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to operational excellence. - Willingness to travel extensively across rural and semi-urban regions. - Ability to multitask, managing field trials and OEM interactions simultaneously while on duty travel. - Experience with biomass processing plants (Briquettes/Pellets/CBG/Biochar) is an added advantage. - 60% to 70% travel required for the role.,
