BIM Estimator – Construction Projects

• Collaborate with sales and pre-sales teams to competitively position Scan to BIM services.
• Provide technical input during proposal development and contract discussions.
• Maintain a centralized database of completed projects to improve future pricing accuracy.
• Use historical benchmarks from similar jobs to validate pricing and effort estimates.
• Segment models into components like walls, piping, or HVAC systems and assign time/cost values.
• Develop formal estimation documents detailing assumptions, exclusions, deliverables, and timelines.
• Justify pricing and delivery schedules with clear technical reasoning.
• Refine modeling estimates based on internal feedback and scan complexity.
• Coordinate with scan technicians and BIM modelers to understand tools, workflows, and limitations.
• Identify risks such as occluded areas, incomplete scans, or inaccessible zones.
• Include contingency buffers for potential rework or additional modeling.
• Review point cloud files (.rcp, .e57, .las) for resolution, coverage, and usability.
• Interpret scan data to define modeling scope—architectural, structural, MEP, or heritage.
• Assess client requirements based on scan quality, scope definition, and expected LOD (100–500).
• Estimate time, effort, and technical resources required to convert scans into accurate BIM models.
• Prepare detailed quotations or proposals based on modeling complexity and turnaround expectations.

Software Knowledge: Revit, Autodesk Recap, Navisworks
