Bigfix Administrator

Job Location: Mumbai (Onsite Engineer)

Working Days & Hours: 6 day work week onsite, 9 hours per day.

The primary role will be that of a BigFix Administrator. The candidate should be adaptable, willing to take on multiple responsibilities and open to learning additional tools as required by business needs.

BigFix Administrator (Level 3)

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer the IBM BigFix platform (Server, BareMetal, Relays, Consoles, WebUI).
• Manage BigFix components including OS deployment & capturing, software distribution, customized Fixlets, Tasks, Baselines, and Site subscriptions.
• Maintain and optimize BigFix infrastructure for performance and reliability.
• Knowledge of BigFix administration tool, backup and routine cleanup activities.
• Perform OS and application patching across multi OS platform like Windows, Linux,and Unix etc systems using BigFix.
• Create and manage patch baselines, schedules, and deployment workflows.
• Monitor patch compliance and generate compliance reports.
• Deploy software packages and updates via BigFix.
• Create custom tasks and automation scripts (Relevance language, ActionScript).
• Validate deployment success and troubleshoot failures.
• Ensure endpoints meet security and compliance standards.
• Implement security policies, vulnerability remediation and configuration management using BigFix.
• Work with Security and Infrastructure teams to address non-compliant systems.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to BigFix agents, relays, bare metal, patch deployment and relevance logic.
• Coordinate with OS/server teams to validate patch installation or failures.
• Maintain detailed documentation and logs.
• Generate dashboards and compliance reports (patch status, vulnerability status, endpoint health etc).
• Present patch metrics and remediation timelines to management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• At least 57 years of hands-on experience with

  IBM BigFix administration

  .
• Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience in patching, OS deployment, software distribution, customized fixlets and endpoint management.
• Knowledge of Relevance Language and ActionScript.
• Experience with BigFix Inventory (ILMT), Compliance, or Lifecycle modules (preferred).
• Basic scripting knowledge: PowerShell, Shell script etc.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• IBM BigFix Certification (optional but preferred).
• Experience working in enterprise or large-scale environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
